MAVERICK CONCERTS SEEKS EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR
Summary: Maverick Concerts, the oldest continuous professional summer chamber music festival in the United States, seeks a hands on, part-time Executive Director to manage the Administrative, Marketing and day to day needs of the organization. The position will report to the Board of Directors. Bachelor’s degree, minimum 3-5 years non-profit management experience required. Ability to work within a collaborative small team. - Experience managing and working within a small team
- Ability to work collaboratively and to provide support to board, volunteers and other stakeholders to enhance their participation
- Demonstrated outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize and make independent judgments
- IT proficiency with MS Office, Excel, database management, website and social media
The ideal candidate will also have the following professional and personal qualifications:
- An open, flexible and creative approach to problem solving
- Audience development experience
- Experienced in PR and working with the press
- Nonprofit fund development experience, including grant writing and annual fund appeals.

An enthusiastic and sophisticated listening audience draws the best roster of impressive international chamber artists as well as outstanding local talent.
Maverick currently presents more than 25 concerts during the 11 week summer season. The Sunday afternoon concerts present modern and classical chamber music repertoire along with the works of living composers. Saturday evenings are more eclectic featuring a jazz series, folk, and world music. A series of Young People’s Concerts is presented during midsummer on Saturday mornings.
The Maverick Concert Hall is now listed on the National and NY State Registries of Historic Sites and is renowned for its wonderful acoustics. In 2008, Maverick Concerts began a capital campaign to upgrade the concert site and preserve the Maverick Concert Hall for future generations. With funding from a matching grant from Save Americas Treasures, generous grants from NYSCA, and private foundations and individuals, a Master Plan was developed and is being implemented for the property. In 2016, Maverick has been selected to receive the Preservation League of New York State’s award for Excellence in Historic Preservation.
